EVERY PATIENT SHOULD COMPLETE THE COURSE OF ANTIBIOTICS

I am a pharmacist having pharmacy store in New Delhi,India. One day one of my friend came with the prescription of a doctor having amoxy with clavulanic acid twice a day for five days, he told me to give for two days only, so i explained him why doctor had given him for five days, because for every antibiotic there is a course associated with it, so if doctor has given him for five days, you should take it for five days, otherwise if you will not take it for five days than in future if the same problem comes this drug will not be effective on your body, than doctor will prescribe higher antibiotic which will be having high cost, so you have to pay more. If you had completed the course of antibiotic before, than you can get cured with the same antibiotic given earlier, In this way you are saving a lot.
Mainly in India this happens everywhere, so antibiotics resistance develop and because of resistance company has to develop new antibiotics so the the cost of healthcare rises.
If every citizen of India should follow the prescription, everyone can reduce the healthcare burden drastically.
Thanks
